New Look Blog

I am still not happy with the new look yet!
So am still looking, I keep finding new background designers, I did not realise there was so many out there. So things may still change by the day, keep watching !!

First Class at Conference..A pocket for Titania

Now this class with Lee Westfield, was way out of my comfort zone.
Not only do I not do beads but I also do not normally use these colours, I am more a natural colour girl.
The photo's are not good for the colour the outside of the bag is lilac and the linning is actually dark purple.
The hardanger work was done before the class and the embellishment was the order of the day.

This beading and thread took me all day, I can honestly say that I probably will never do another one.
But I will finish the bag and post a photograph when done, and hopefully the colour will show up better.... I must say though it was a fun day and Lee was so patient trying to make me do what I would normally steer clear from.

This next photo's are of Lee's work just to show you what a completed bags looks like, I would have
loved to have done this one it is more my thing.

Colours in your food...good for you

COLOUR IS GOOD for you

Yesterday I went to the doctor for my yearly physical.
My blood pressure was high .....
My cholesterol was high .......
I'd gained some weight, and I didn't feel so hot.
My doctor said eating right doesn't have to be complicated and it would solve my physical problems.
He said: Just think in colours. Fill your plate with bright colours. Try some greens, oranges, reds, maybe something blue, etc.
So I went right home and ate an entire bowl of

And sure enough, I felt better immediately. I never knew eating right could be so easy !!!

My Background

It has taken me years to find a really suitable background to my blog..and what happens you finally find one you love , and then there it is gone.
Seems that Scraping Blog backgrounds have been closed by  the company they use as a server as they are having to many hits, as this is a free service they can only use the Photobucket company server so many times, after that that they become a business, and must pay for the service...
so there goes my nice stitching background ..
So this one is temporary until I can find another suitable one.

Another from the email

WHEN I'M AN OLD LADY AND LIVE WITH MY KIDS

When I'm an old lady, I'll live with each kid,
And bring so much happiness...just as they did.
I want to pay back all the joy they've provided.
Returning each deed! Oh, they'll be so excited!
(When I'm an old lady and live with my kids)

I'll write on the wall with reds, whites and blues,
And I'll bounce on the furniture...wearing my shoes.
I'll drink from the carton and then leave it out.
I'll stuff all the toilets and oh, how they'll shout!
(When I'm an old lady and live with my kids)

When they're on the phone and just out of reach,
I'll get into things like sugar and bleach.
Oh, they'll snap their fingers and then shake their head,
And when that is done I'll hide under the bed.
(When I'm an old lady and live with my kids)

When they cook dinner and call me to eat,
I'll not eat my green beans or salad or meat,
I'll gag on my okra, spill milk on the table,
And when they get angry...I'll run...if I'm able!
(When I'm an old lady and live with my kids)

I'll sit close to the TV, through the channels I'll click,
I'll cross both eyes just to see if they stick
I'll take off my socks and throw one away,
And play in the mud 'til the end of the day!
(When I'm an old lady and live with my kids)

And later in bed, I'll lay back and sigh,
I'll thank God in prayer and then close my eyes.
My kids will look down with a smile slowly creeping,
And say with a groan, "She's so sweet when she's sleeping!"
(When I'm an old lady and live with my kids)

God Bless All Mums and Grandmas Everywhere!
