How do I photograph this

I decided after a few days of feeling grotty
and finding it was not the flu
but a bug on the inside of the tummy,
I am off to Dr's on Monday for test
to make sure it is not symonella or such

So I thought going to do the toy class would be okay for me

I have no idea on how to photograph this toy to show what it really does

it turns in on it's self from end to end and side to side.
it has 6 different fabrics and is facinating to play with....
I would like to say it was easy to make,
well it was really you just had to follow every
step of the pattern to the letter

Hey Presto it worked
It still needs the top stitching, blanket stitch
or the like or even something fancier
around each block to finish it off,
Will I make another ?
You have to be joking.

It has caught up with me

I was just saying last week how I had managed to stay clear of all the bugs this year

Whoops!! should not have spoken so fast.
I have had a few days of feeling not 100% with aches and tired.
Boom!! yesterday it finally hit me, after continuous paracetamol
and drinking copious pots of tea,
I have had to give in and stay in bed today.
( I can't remember the last time I had a day in bed)
It is amazing it always happens when is not convenient
today I was to have taken care of Ellis and Harvey
as they had a teachers only day at school.
So I had to call them at 7 am to cry off.
I feel quite bad about this
It has to be for the best that the boys stay clear for a few days.

Brussels sprouts

Okay! tell me what is your memory of Brussels Sprout,
most likely about the same as mine.
Soft over cooked bitter tasting vegetable.
My mother would cook them for hours until
the whole house reaked of the smell
and then we would have to eat one or two at lunch time.
I have visions of myself sat for hours at the table
after everyone else had departed under the threat
" You will eat them before you leave the table even if it is breakfast time"
Fear no more, I have found a great recipe,
I have now cooked it three times and each time given it to someone
who is not fond of them and they have enjoyed them.
***********************************************

Prepare 8 sprouts
3 or 4 rashers of bacon
a small onion chopped
Almond slithers.
Salt and pepper
Blanch sprouts for 5 mins, remove from water and drain.
Fry onions and chopped bacon until crisp in butter
Chop sprouts into half or quarters depending on size.
add to pan with onion and bacon stirfry for a few minutes
add almonds and serve.
This should feed 2 or 3 people as a vegetable.

Wednesday is a complicated day

Wednesday is my Embroidery Guild day has been for 8 years
We meet from 9.30am through to 9.00pm or any part of the day you wish to attend.
The training for the Guide at the Museum clashes as it is a Wednesday also, but never mind I attend training in the morning till 12 noon and then go on to Guild, so I pack the car with various bags for each place I will be attending.
Today started great I was up early and ready early, no rushing or panics.
I duly did the training drove to Guild and looked for my stitching bag...whoops left it by the front door where I put it the evening before so as not to forget it in the morning .....So I have had to come home and will return to Guild for the evening session.
I think I will go back to the rushing and panics it seems to work better.

Aqua Jogging to help climb a mountain

I realise it is important to try and keep fit but I have great
difficulty in running as I suffer with asthma on exertion,
I tried aerobics classes and basically became bored
and intimidated by the leotard swathed beauties,
the gym does not do a lot for me either although
I do like using a jogging machine.

I am quite happy in the water and will happily swim around
although I am not that strong a swimmer
While at the pool a few years ago there was a group Aqua Jogging
and I thought "Yes" that's for me.
So I have been exercising this way on and off for years,
but I must admit that I have been remiss in going for months now

but today I got up early and into my track suit and off to the pool
it was great and I enjoyed it, so my aim is 3 times a week.
There is also an Aqua aerobics class at the pool
so that will be on the timetable as well.

All this is the start of training for a "Real Women's Race"
to take place in February 2010
This consists of a 10km bike ride and a 5km walk......
My neighbour Lynne is taking part as well.
This does not sound like to much
but when you have done nothing in the way of exercise
for approx. 2 yrs ....it is like climbing a mountain

Another thoughtful email

Sometimes I get all sorts of emails, some go straight to the garbage bin others I pass on
This one I thought I would pass on via the blog.

MOTHERS

Real Mothers don't eat quiche; They don't have time to make it.
Real Mothers know that their kitchen utensils are probably in the sandbox.
Real Mothers often have sticky floors,Filthy ovens and happy kids.
Real Mothers know that dried play dough doesn't come out of carpets.
Real Mothers don't want to know what the vacuum just sucked up.
Real Mothers sometimes ask 'Why me?'and get their answer when a littleVoice says, 'Because I love you best.'
Real Mothers know that a child's growth is not measured by height or years or grade...It is marked by the progression of Mummy to Mum to Mother....

The Images of Mother

4 YEARS OF AGE - My Mummy can do anything!
8 YEARS OF AGE - My Mum knows a lot! A whole lot!
12 YEARS OF AGE - My Mother doesn't really know quite everything.
14 YEARS OF AGE - Naturally, Mother doesn't know that, either.
16 YEARS OF AGE - Mother? She's hopelessly old-fashioned.
18 YEARS OF AGE - That old woman? She's way out of date!
25 YEARS OF AGE - Well, she might know a little bit about it!
35 YEARS OF AGE - Before we decide, let's get Mum's opinion.....
45 YEARS OF AGE - Wonder what Mom would have thought about it?
65 YEARS OF AGE - Wish I could talk it over with Mum.

The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure she carries,
or the way she combs her hair.
The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes,
Because that is the doorway to her heart,
The place where love resides.
The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mole,
But true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul.
It is the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows,
and the beauty of a woman with passing years only grows!
