Just a little smile or 2

I never get tired of housework - I don't do any.

When guests come to visit
I just put down drop cloths and say, "We're painting."

Give me a sense of humor, Lord,
Give me the grace to see a joke,
To get some humor out of life, and pass it on to other folks.

"Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly."
"Good friends are like stars...
You don't always see them, but you know they are always there."

I have not forgotten you

I really have not forgotten you all, it is just I am still up to my eyes cleaning out ...I have decided it is a good opportunity to have a de-clutter I am not sure that there is such a word ...but heck who cares!!
So every drawer and cupboard, box and corner has been turned out.
I have  tried to be sensible about all this and just doing a couple of hours each day and keeping up life as we know it as well.
I have a new bedroom and a new bed ... first night used last night and I slept all night awaking at 8am today ... have not done that for weeks and weeks so it must be comfortable, warm and cosy.... must admit I was tossing and turning quite a bit in the old bed,  may be it was time for a new one. The lady in the shop says the manufacturers recommend every 10 yrs to change your mattress... wow! ours must have been 20 yrs from what I can remember.
The cat seems to appreciate it so I guess that's all that matters.

The sewing room ... just don't mention it ...it is being kept until last, and when I do it I will be able to concentrate 100% on it, I am also going to be quite tough on that as well there are drawers full of stuff that I will not use... but you know how it is when you shop...Oooh!haaa!  .. useful or what a good gadget and before you know it is in your bag. Really how many of these gadgets and nic nacs do we really use
So I am going back to almost basics...Oh yeah! watch this space, as I said the intentions are there but guess the heart and head will be not so willing.

So back to work and stop wasting time on this infernal computer .. what a time waster it can be what starts out as a 10 minute email and blog check ends up a couple of hours.... mind you some folks can be really strict ...Oh well not me!!

The big sort out still going on

Well, the big sort out is still going on, I managed a few more things yesterday and this morning  I have sorted the new study ... well not exactly a "study " more a computer cupboard but I think it will work just great... in fact it may be good to be able to shut the door on the computer stuff and not have it as the  dominate thing on view..... some how !   I don't think I am going to miss the study other than not having a dumping ground for things that have no home.
Shelves above will hold the stationary stuff, and may be a few other items. The work surface is a tad to high but that has a good side it makes you sit up while typing and the screen is the correct height for good posture.

I am just waiting on my darling son coming and sorting the power and telephone line to it and I will be up and running.  At the present there are extension leads coming from the other side of the room, Just hope health and safety don't pay me a visit... but guess they will have seen worse than mine.

Yesterday evening I went to see a performance of Macbeth
Put on by the local Shakespeare Outside Group it was so well done  there was no fumbling of lines and the costumes where amazing.   Here are The Three Witches, Their cauldron even boiled with Dry ice it was so well done.
I was so into the performance I forgot to take more photographs .

Lovely Neighbours

I have these wonderful neighbours Keith and Lynne and when I said "help ! need muscles" there he was ready to moved some furniture for me, just cost me a cup of tea ...they are the best.
I didn't even have a biscuit to offer him, they are not allowed in my pantry or supermarket trolley.

I have spent just an hour this evening sorting the sewing room ... amazing what you can do in such a short space of time .... looking good already... Op shop pile is small at present but it will increase, but the waste bin is fairly full so may be moving rooms is a bit of a bonus as the garbage is leaving the room ... why do we hang on to bits and pieces that we really know are of no practical use.... I know it is the squirrel in me... or is it the fact that I was born in WW11 and things were just never thrown away for years even after the rationing was over ... old habits die hard sometimes.
I can also feel my Mum looking down on me saying " Don't throw that out it will come in one day for something" and it sure did in her time,  she made over all sorts of stuff for us 3 girls ...my brother was lucky he was born when money was alot more plentiful.
It is amazing how when you are doing one thing ...  it jogs your memory  to think on things in the past may be things you had completely forgotten about, I just love it when this happens ... This is when you should write down your memories for the future generations I do wish my Grandparents had. I should start to do it myself.

Time to do something

I am feeling at least 100% better than a week or so ago which is just great... now I feel I have to do something constructive....

Some folks are but most people are not aware that my life has changed some what in the last 18 months, after we came back from Dubai ...... I needed to retire and do the Grandma bit and Eric decided he was not retiring and wanted to return to China  ( we have a company there) to run it from there.
So the upshot is we parted company after 48 yrs. Lots of other factors of course with in this ... but that is okay we are both happy very friendly and no ill feelings both needing different things from life at this stage of play..
So the house will be mine completely with in a couple of weeks  ... now the fun starts obviously the house is far to big  with 4 bedrooms for just one person and a cat that thinks he owns the place of course.  So I have decided to take in a boarder, but one who will be completely self sufficient.

The master bedroom will be turned into a bed-sitting room with own bathroom and small kitchenette in the laundry which will mean that who ever the occupant is will not have to go through the main part of the house .. I will be looking for a professional person and will be very very fussy about who I let it to.
The master bedroom is an extension of the house and can be completely cut off from the rest of the house, which makes it perfect for this plan.
This will mean some moving of rooms i.e. the study will become my sewing room ( just after I had settled into the new one oh! well that's life I suppose)
The sewing room will become my bedroom, the study will no longer exist ... what happens to the computer paraphernalia and office stuff ......I do not have a clue at this present moment in time. Good job the garage is more than a double and has a large workshop attached for storing stuff.

So it is spend time new bed for me and a smaller one for the bedsit room  ...   I am going shopping on the next holiday weekend 28th / 29th January when there will be fantastic deals going on ...   I have already looked and seen what I want,  now just waiting for those deals to appear.
It is sort of exciting in away .... until I moved the sewing room yesterday the following pictures will tell the story .....

Oh !!  where the heck is that Fairy God Mother when you need her ... trying to push every thing in is going to be a squeeze so I have vowed to have a clear out... at least 20% of this has to go in fact I bet I could up that if I was really ruthless.
I think the Op Shop is going to do very well out of me this next week especially on the books and magazines,  I don't think I have thrown out a single sewing and embroidery magazine for years.
I have patterns dating back to the dark ages  now don't know why I saved them and I just know I do not have enough years left of life to start them let alone finish them so they have to go.

I am here just not active

This is just how I feel at present .. the flu etc that I had over Christmas has knocked the stuffing out of me, I am forgetting every thing and it all seems to much trouble.
As long as someone else organises me I am fine, I am even forgetting to eat and had a bit of a wake up call on Sunday evening around 9pm when I really felt " funny" and then realised I had not eaten since 8am so after a quick piece of bread and jam .... I felt almost human and set to, to make something more substantial.

This is the first time that I have felt so low after the Flu ...  I have heard of people being like this,  I was getting breathless and no energy so I took myself to the GP again and low and behold not just aftermath of flu, I still have chest infection and my Asthma has kicked in so back on the pills and inhalers and after a couple of days I now am feeling so much better, but can still sleep the clock around if left to do so...
This evening I was determined to get some exercise and took myself off for a walk or should I say a stroll I did about 30 mins and feel very pleasantly tired so an early night is on the cards.

So I  have done absolutely no sewing of any description since the beginning of December,  but Wednesday a few ladies are getting together and we will get back into the swing of stitching again after the holiday period, it will be good to have some structure to the day again

Tomorrow morning  at about 8am I am going to the hot pools for a bit of a dip and swim, need to get up and going again and this will be the start

So don't give up on me I will be back on line soon.
